This Privacy Policy explains what information encapsulated.network collects from visitors, how it is used, and what choices you have. We run a cybersecurity and privacy education site — we take this policy seriously and write it in plain language, not legal boilerplate designed to obscure what we actually do.

encapsulated.network is an independent cybersecurity and privacy publication operated by Najib Dahech, based in Tunisia. The site covers VPN protocols, encryption, and digital privacy for technically curious readers.

What information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Comments: When you leave a comment on an article, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your comment. Your email address is not published publicly — it is used only to notify you of replies and to identify your comment in our system. Your name and comment are displayed publicly on the site.
- Newsletter subscription: When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use this solely to send you updates about new articles and site content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email.
- Contact form / email: If you contact us directly by email, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to your query.
Information collected automatically
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this site — which articles are read, how long visitors stay, which countries traffic comes from, and similar aggregate statistics. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to track this data. Google processes this data on its own servers. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Server logs: Our hosting provider (Cloudways) automatically logs basic access information including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. These logs are used for security monitoring and server maintenance. They are not used for marketing purposes.

encapsulated.network does not currently display advertisements. We plan to introduce advertising in the future, which may include Google AdSense or similar networks. We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Data retention
- Comments: Retained indefinitely unless you request deletion.
- Newsletter subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe. Email addresses are deleted within 30 days of unsubscription.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics retains data according to the retention period set in our account (currently 14 months).
- Server logs: Retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data including:
- Access: The right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: The right to correct inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: The right to request deletion of your personal data
- Objection: The right to object to processing of your personal data

We will update this policy when our data practices change — in particular when advertising is introduced. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
